BET

BET is a small top down wave-based fighting game about a gladiator who's in it for the money. Bet on your own success,  so when you go out in a blaze of glory you can live the good life. All the while, seeing how you fare with three distinct abilities against four very different enemies.

Bet was created in Pico-8 and completed in only 74 man-hours. It had four contributors, two were programmers. Published in loving memory of Aaron.

Controls

Use the ⬆️, ⬇️, ⬅️, and ➡️ keys to move.

Push Z to do a lateral sword stab.

Push X to use mana and do a circular sword swipe.

Push Z and X to use most your mana on a shield aura that melts enemies.

Betting

Every level there is an opportunity to bet. Use the ⬆️ and ⬇️ keys to decide on an amount. You'll double the money you bet if you win, and lose it if you die. 

Use ⬅️ and ➡️ keys to get a loan. You'll have more capital to bet with, but be forced to pay it back when you die.

Try to end your gladiatorial career with the best retirement you can!
